Learning Support

Duiske College offers a wide range of support to Learning Support students who may need to avail of additional assistance during their time here. An extensive programme of Learning Support is put in place at the beginning of each year.

Incoming students to the college are assessed to discover whether they will require learning support. Students who receive learning support will follow an appropriate individual programme of learning while studying their other subjects.

Learning Support classes focus on literacy, numeracy and assisting students with subjects on the curriculum. In this way, all students in the college can reach their full potential and the school will endeavour to meet the specific educational needs of all.

Code of Behaviour

Duiske College prides itself on the quality of relationships between students and staff. Within this context Duiske College’s first instinct is to praise and reward students who reach the positive behaviour standards we wish for.

An important part of the school’s Code of Behaviour is the effort made to acknowledge the good behaviour of our students Primarily, the individual teacher praises and affirms good behaviour and constantly liaises with Class Teachers, School Management and the Student Support Team to appropriately reward and highlight incidents of good behaviour.
