Please remember that Duiske College has Progression Agreements with WIT and CIT and students can earn up to 390 CAO points by successfully completing one of our courses 


 A student services charge of €100 is payable on application for the first four courses listed above.

The Outdoor Sports and Recreation course has a student services charge of €300.

The student services charge is non-refundable and is due on the course introduction day.

Learners who enrol on an approved PLC course are eligible to pay a €200 programme participant contribution.The contribution is an annual charge. Eligible participants on PLC courses of more than one year’s duration must pay the contribution for each year of that course.The following categories of participant are exempt from paying the contribution:

  • Full medical card holders in their own right and their dependent children
  • Those who are eligible under the student grant scheme
  • Those in receipt of the Back to EducationAllowance (BTEA) or Vocational Training Opportunity Scheme (VTOS) allowances.

There are no tuition fees payable to the College by EU Nationals.  Non-EU Nationals who do not meet the exemption requirements are liable for the full tuition fee of €3,430 as per Department of Education and Science instructions.

Maintenance Grants 
All grant applications will be made online to a single awarding authority, SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland).
Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) 
QQI acts as the awarding body for the majority of programmes offered by the Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board. KCETB is registered under Quality Assurance guidelines to offer programmes leading to QQI awards. Programmes that are accredited by QQI consists of a combination of mandatory, elective and general studies, minor awards (modules). Please note that elective minor awards are subject to change.
Entry Requirements
  • A minimum age requirement of 17
  • Leaving Certificate /Leaving Certificate Applied

The exception to the above are as follows:

  • Prior learning or academic/work experience that has provided competence and knowledge,  either directly or in a related vocational field will be considered in the case of  students who are over the age of eighteen (18) and who do not hold formal  qualifications at Leaving Certificate level.
  • Mature students (over 23 years) may apply to all courses without formal  qualifications.  These applicants will be evaluated on previous experience and performance at interview.
Adult Evening Classes
Evening classes may be run, subject to demand.
